Dragon Ball on RPN

Before Cartoon Network in the United States aired it in the early 2000s, RPN aired the English dub of Dragon Ball in my country in the mid to late 1990s. The network also aired the 1st season of Dragon Ball Z that decade, before GMA Network pick it up in early 2000s with a Filipino dub.

Popeye the Quaker Man

A year after the cancellation of Popeye and Son on CBS, Popeye appears in a series of commercials promoting Instant Quaker Oatmeal in 1989. In these commercials, Popeye eats Instant Quaker Oatmeal instead of spinach. Maurice LaMarche voices Popeye here.

I watch old McDonald's commercials on the net

I first watched the old McDonald's commercials from the 1980's on RetroJunk & YouTube when I was 11 to 12 years old. Those commercials were aired on American television before September 10, 1989 Sunday. I didn't know that Grimace, Hamburglar & Birdie the Early Bird can talk in every commercial. Speaking of Birdie, she's voiced by Russi Taylor which I know her as the current voice of Minnie Mouse.

Many Filipinos watched Voltes V on television in the 1980's aired on various television networks in the Philippines such as PTV, ABS-CBN & RPN, it only aired 31 episodes due to reruns. However, the episodes that are not aired on Philippine television were episodes 27-30. Between 1989 & 1999, Voltes V begins airing on IBC & later GMA with a Tagalog dub. As of August 21, 1999 Saturday, all the episodes of Voltes V are dubbed in Tagalog when already aired on GMA every Friday night at 7:30 pm after Lupin the 3rd.

I realize that as of July 8, 1989 Saturday, two days before Mel Blanc died, The Looney Tunes characters are costumed mascots in every Six Flags park in America.
