I watched Madagascar 10 years ago!

My dad & I watched Madagascar together in a movie theater 10 years ago & the movie was released in the United States 10 years ago. This movie is made by PDI/DreamWorks (formerly known as Pacific Data Images), the same studio that made Antz & Shrek for DreamWorks. This movie is how I like to move it, move it!

Another Throwback Thursday

I remember these JumpStart games as a kid when I was 4 to 5 years old in Sulucan, Bocaue, Bulacan when there's no internet access available. The computer games that I & my sister Rita playing were JumpStart Preschool (1999 version) & JumpStart Numbers. I played JumpStart Numbers alone when I was upstairs in my old house. As of December 31, 2005 Saturday in the US, Knowledge Adventure have released more & more JumpStart games which was the #1 children's edutainment software in the United States after Reader Rabbit.

It's a musical commercial!

I know that commercial is from 1988 which is a year before Mel Blanc died. The slogan "The good time, great taste of McDonald's" was used from April 11, 1988 Monday – May 10, 1990 Thursday, it was still used in November 9, 1989 Friday.

I watch old McDonald's commercials on the net

I first watched the old McDonald's commercials from the 1980's on RetroJunk & YouTube when I was 11 to 12 years old. Those commercials were aired on American television before September 10, 1989 Sunday. I didn't know that Grimace, Hamburglar & Birdie the Early Bird can talk in every commercial. Speaking of Birdie, she's voiced by Russi Taylor which I know her as the current voice of Minnie Mouse.

The first computer animated movie not made by Pixar that I remembered

Before Shrek & Madagascar, there was Antz. Antz was released in Philippine theaters in 1998 before August 22, Sunday at 8 am the following year. I watched that movie on HBO when I was 4 years old & the ant characters have four legs instead of two legs for the ant characters in A Bug's Life. Both that movie & The Ant Bully have ant characters have four legs. The movie was made by Pacific Data Images (now known as PDI/DreamWorks) for DreamWorks which is responsible for making animated TV commercials & Visual effects for live-action movies. As of August 21, 1999 Saturday at 5 pm Pacific, Pacific Data Images were busy production for their second computer animated film for DreamWorks "Shrek", I hope Asian Americans really work at PDI for the production of Shrek back in 1999.

Big Thinkers are Big Sinkers!

Humongous Entertainment only released two games of the Big Thinkers series as of June 12, 1998 Friday in the US which the third one “Big Thinkers 2nd Grade” was completed but never released. My sister played that game when she & I were kids in my old house in Sulucan, Bocaue, Bulacan when there's no internet access.

The Cartoon Network shows that I truely miss

When I was 8 years old, Cartoon Network started to air new episodes of every original show like Dexter's Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls & Samurai Jack but three Cartoon Network original shows never continue with new episodes nor renew for another season as of November 3, 2003 Monday at 6 pm PHT.

1. Courage the Cowardly Dog
I first watched him on The What a Cartoon! Show before August 22, 1999 Sunday at 8 am PHT. Later, he would get his own show after 1999. The plot evolves a dog named Courage who is rescued by Muriel who lives in the middle of Nowhere with is husband, Eustace Bagge. But when creepy stuff happens in Nowhere, it's up to Courage to save his new home. Whenever Courage sees something scary, he screams a lot which it irritates me in my opinion. Many people said that this is the scariest Cartoon Network original show to date. I refuse watch that show in the mid 2000's on TV after school.

2. Sheep in the Big City
I sadly didn't watch the pilot episode from 2000, but I watched the entire show on TV. The show was the last original show to premiere on Cartoon Network in my country months before it becomes a 24 hour channel in 2001. The shows evolves a sheep named well, Sheep, who leaves the farm & moves to a new life in the big city. Unfortunately, the Secret Military Organization, commanded by General Specific, wants to use Sheep in its new sheep-powered ray gun (with a sheep-shaped hole in it). So now Sheep is on the lam(b) from General Specific, who is assisted by sidekick Private Public, the Angry Scientist (who in the show, the characters sometimes wrongly refer to as the Mad Scientist), a bunch of other military types, and, last but not least, by the Plot Device. I remember that show as a kid because the animation reminds me of Sesame Street which one of the animated segments were done by the show's creator, Mo Willems. Unlike Courage the Cowardly Dog, I still watched that show in the mid 2000's on TV after school.

3. Grim & Evil
First of all, I watched both pilots. The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy "Meet The Reaper" & Evil Con Carne. Second, I watched Grim & Evil & it watch great, I think. Billy & Mandy is a segment about two neighborhood kids who force the Grim Reaper to be their best friend forever after defeating the Messenger of Death in a game of Limbo, while Evil Con Carne is segment about the disembodied brain of an evil genius who wants to take over the world that was transplanted into a moronic circus bear. One episode that I like about the show is Trouble With Skarrina & I recommend it. Later, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy becomes a show of its' own which I remember watching it & Evil Con Carne becomes a show of its' own which I didn't watching on Cartoon Network in my country because 1. The show is short-lived & 2. I watched The All New Popeye Show & other American cartoons before November 12, 1989 Sunday on Cartoon Network. Well, I watched reruns of Grim & Evil after November 3, 2003 Monday at 6 pm PHT after school on TV.

Cartoon Network fans wish that they want bring the shows back with new episodes but it's too late now except for Courage the Cowardly Dog. I'll never forget these shows on Cartoon Network. Next year however, Warner Home Video would release those three shows on DVD in a NTSC format with the exceptions of the first 2 seasons of Courage the Cowardly Dog. I just want to relive my childhood memories back I should avoid watching current preschool shows again from 2002 to today.

It's Throwback Thursday!

Back in 1996, Filipino kids watched Ghost Fighter every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm on IBC 13 where it still ran until September 15, 1998. In the US however, the show is still called YuYu Hakusho & it only released 2 movies on VHS either English dubbed or subtitled as of between September 15, 1998 Wednesday at 4 am Pacific & August 21, 1999 Saturday at 5 pm Pacific. I've watched the English dubbed of YuYu Hakusho on Animax back in 2007 on TV when I was in Quezon City, Philippines & I enjoyed it really. It's even better than Ghost Fighter because it's still YuYu Hakusho.

Those were my Power Ranger days

The Power Rangers shows that I watched on Cartoon Network's Toonami in my childhood were Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, S.P.D. & Mystic Force. I do like the Zord battles because the Megazord transformation sentences were awesome, but I sadly don't watch the first 9 seasons of Power Rangers from Mighty Morphin to Time Force on TV in original English language. Oh well.

That Super Electromagnetic Machine cannot be destroyed

I should know as of August 22, 1999 Sunday in the Philippines, Voltes V wasn’t destroyed completely at the end of the last episode & the Voltes team didn’t end up dying, even for Steve. The show itself aired 31 episodes in total & released two movies including "The Liberation" which is a compilation of the last five episodes so far. Voltes V is owned by Toei Company & Telesuccess Productions.
